Orion's belt and sword Taken with the ST7 and a Pentax 50mm camera lens, 90 sec. The arrow points to a nebulous region (see link on next line) that I cannot find in common reference sources. Photo taken 12/24/99, around 23:31 EST (bright moon that night.) Most likely this is an artifact of using an unfiltered camera lens with the CCD camera. The lens probably causes some non-optical light frequencies to be out of focus at the CCD focal plane.
